Why visit Chelsea, when Challock boasts some fabulous show gardens and unique plant collections.

Eight gardens that are normally hidden from the public will open in the lovely picturesque village of Challock, on top of the North Downs, open on Sunday 28 May from 10-5 pm for charity. Discover, explore and be inspired.

A perfect way to spend Sunday, enjoying others gardens, without having a do any gardening yourself! Indulge with a ploughman’s lunch and delicious homemade cakes, along the way.

A great day out for all the family, come and get ideas or just relax!

Mostly within easy walking distance of each other and off the main village green - The Lees. A wide variety of gardens are open, from newly planted borders to gardens with specimen plants, shrubs and trees. They range from wild flower meadows, cottage gardens, private collection of over 300 cacti and succulents, ponds, water features and vegetable plots

The beautiful church which is over 800 years old will also be also be open for visitors.

New this year, is a Children’s Miniature Garden Competition, children 12 years and younger are invited to create a miniature garden in any container. The competition is free to enter and entries should be dropped off between 10-11 am on Sunday 28 May at the Village Hall. 

Proceeds in aid of The Friends of Challock Church, to preserve, repair and restore the fabric of the ancient Parish Church – Saints Cosmas and Damian.

Entrance to all gardens is £5, with a free programme and map. Accompanied children under 16 free.  Start at Laurenden Cottage, Church Lane, Challock, TN25 4AU, to buy your tickets. Gardens open will be displaying a large orange flower.
